Building Lytton Sports Camps from the ground up.
Creating a trusted youth-sports brand, building the team and systems behind it, and preparing the company for a successful acquisition.
The opportunity
Turn an idea into a company families could trust.
Lytton Sports Camps began with a clear idea: create high-quality sports programs that parents trusted and young athletes wanted to return to.
Building the company required much more than good programming. It meant understanding the customer, establishing a strong brand, hiring and leading seasonal teams, managing risk and delivering a consistent experience as the business grew.
What the work involved
Building both the customer experience and the business behind it.
- Identifying the right customers and earning the confidence of parents.
- Developing programs, positioning and marketing that stood out in a competitive market.
- Recruiting, training and leading teams capable of delivering a consistent experience.
- Creating practical operating systems that supported growth.
- Strengthening the company so it could continue beyond its founder.
The result
A business that became valuable to a larger organization.
Lytton Sports Camps grew into a successful company and was ultimately acquired by Nike Sports Camps and US Sports Camps.
The experience reinforced an important lesson: a business becomes more valuable when its brand, people, customer experience and operating systems work together. Those are the same fundamentals I now help other owners strengthen.
